Latronics LS 3024 not starting

Hi all , my Latronics LS 3024 will not start up , It was running fine last night when I switched it off but will not start back up this morning .

It has done this a couple of times before , I usually just turn the internal breaker on and off a couple times and it starts up , the time before this episode it done it , it wouldn't start , so I pulled the cover , can not see any obvious problems , after starring blankly at it for a while I just gave the Internal fan a flick with my finger and it started up , could of been a coincidence ?

This time it won't start at all , it has full battery voltage to the board , so is not battery fuses or internal breaker , must be something faulty on the board .

Has anybody running this inverter seen or heard of this problem before , anybody give me a clue what to look at ?

Cheers Chris

Hmm,

is the fan getting power?
is the circuit breaker ok the check the CB has continuity, with the batteries NOT connected
are the main caps OK?

just a few of things I could think of quickly.
A multimeter is a very important test tool.

Have you tried adjusting the demand start setting?

Hi David , not sure about the fan , have never heard it running , but I never really pull enough power out of it to get it hot .
Circuit breaker seems fine , it will turn the battery voltage on and off to the board , it has full battery voltage at the board when tested with a meter , but no lights come on .
Caps look ok , no bulging etc .

Hi Gordon , yep 50 times , makes no differance if it's on or off .

Spent half the day looking at it ,poking the meter at it , swearing at it , kicking it , turning it on , turning it off , leaving it off for a while , leaving it on for a while , nothing , then I walked away from it and went out to the shed for half an hour and I come back and the bloody thing is running .

I give up , am just going to leave it running now , I usually turn it off when not home and of a night cause there is nothing using power .
