Thanks Gordon, however, still trouble uploading image.. I have a tag "Upload Image"..... no-go!
Anyway, I'll try later for that meter image.

The meter appear to be the same as "Icarus" posting above, who is also with EA
The meter is described as .......
1Ph 3E OP1 (Solar Bonus)
IntelliHUB 04000059xx
Landis + Gyr E350

My query is ... what are the following parameters?
01........... Time
02........... Date
03 Kw E1 E2
04 Kw E1 E2
05 Kw E1
06 Kw E2 E1
07 Kw E2
08 Kw E2.

Does anyone know if the old shoulder and off-peak costing apply when used in conjunction with Smart meter calculations?

By the looks of it you are trying to link to an image on your desktop, rather than uploading it to the server as per the instructions in that thread.

Landis and Gyr don't specify what each of the 6 registers records, so you might need to get that info from EA.

Thanks Icarus and Gordon I will try and verify thu EA
03 Kw E1 E2............. 223.2kW .....Total net import
04 Kw E1 E2..............18.4kW. ......Total net export
05 Kw E1..................268.6kW...... Import general : stove , lights ect.
06 Kw E2 E1.............. 0000kW
07 Kw E3.................. 84.1kW .......Off-Peak hotwater
08 Kw E2.................. 63.8kW .......Gross Solar produced

I must say looking up my account on the EA web site, it looks as so its going to be a big bill as compared with the same period last year

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering what peoples experiences have been in NSW with regard to meter changeovers?

In terms of my situation we had EnergyMatters install our system when our home was build mid 2010, in fact I remember we got our system connected mid August not long before the 60c scheme closed.
We have a 1.6kw System consisting of 8 Sanyo 210W panels and a SMA 4kw inverter (originally intended for later expansion).
I am looking into getting our metering changed from Gross to Net and then potentially adding some more panels.

I just got of the phone to our current retailer which is Energy Australia and they told me I have two options regarding the meter changeover.
The first being their basic booster plan and they will look after installing the new meter, there is no lock in contract, they offer a 12.5c feed in tariff, however there is a $10 monthly fee ... forever ... to cover the cost and maintenance of the meter.

The only other option I was told was to engage my own electrician (L2?) to change the meter for me, to avoid the $10 monthly lifetime fee.

Just interest to hear what people in the past have done.

Thanks, Mark
PS. I believe I am in the ausgrid distribution area if that makes any difference (Bankstown council area)

Marnold, as far as I know, you will be kept in the dark until you can slowly work out what your bills are over a 6 month period, thence, you will be able to determine what's going on!
I have had no mention of the monthly $10 maintenance fee, however, I think I will get hit with it.

I looked up my daily consumption after having converted to "NET" (energyaustralia.com.au /My account) and found there was a sudden drop of approx 10 kwh/day about 2 weeks after i converted to "Net". It was almost as if somebody viewing my account, said " this looks wrong, let's adjust it". On this "my account" site they still haven't allowed readable data as to how much I have contributed to my daily consumption via the solar.

I think they are feeling their way.
In summary, you will need a few 3 monthly bills to get a handle on what's going on!

No............... NET means you use the generated power first that power is not "seen" by the meter at all. It is consumed within the house FIRST. What you are seeing is the excess being produced when it has not been used internally.

If you look at your charged "Tariff rate" by the number of Solar kWh's consumed internally, which will be more than you would get paid under current FIT that is what is being saved.

I stress NET METERING ONLY shows what you have NOT USED INTERNALLY, so only what has actually been exported.

If you need or want to know how many kWh's you are producing per day you will have to look at the inverter itself to see how many kWh's you are producing "gross" then do the rest of the math to work out your saving, etc.

Gordon L, please give me a Sesame Street version of loading a photo.
This photo is a graphical representation of my August usage.. Particular note is that my net usage seems to start on the 12 August, my "Net" installation was was 6 July?
Gordon, on reflection a message told me my pic was too big.. How do I reduce it?
