Just back from Brisbane, where there was a news item declaring that " ... generous Solar Feed-In recipients would be offered a generous discount on Battery Systems, in exchange for cancelling the feed in program.."

There was no real elaboration, but nothing will surprise me if that ain't the last word...
I would suspect the second offer will be .. NOTHING... "..You had a chance and you rejected it "

Anyone heard more details.. :?:

In NSW Origin have sent a survey to their customers, which I'd guess is all part of them figuring out what customers are likely to do when the feed-in collapses and new meters are required. Origin also make noises about battery storage so I reckon if there's a strong response it tells them that quite a few people might be happy to jump ship if they don't like their options.

It's more than a little tricky for these organizations to be signing people up for long term contracts without first declaring their hand on the amount they'll offer for feed-in and if they might toss some sort of penalty for having panels, into the mix.

You would be silly if you took that offer up. a lot of people have 5kw systems on there roof in the city producing a good 20kwh+ if they are not at home much in the day (like most people) the bulk of that is getting 40-50 cents a KWH or so .

For some that can be $10 a day $70 a week. With today's interest rates at about 3% for a term deposit it would take about $125,000 to get $70 a week income.

A discount or even a free set of batterys worth $10,000 is not worth it.

I am.cynically wondering if such offers will precede a complete cancellation, as Governments of all persuasion realise that there are more votes in cancelling the plans that would be lost by such cancelling..
THEY will simply declare "we gave them.an.alternative" IMHO
