Could somebody enlighten me as to what you would see for a solar installation in NSW if the inverter is mounted on a outside wall next to the meter box?The reason I ask is our next door neighbour has just had a solar system installed and there is no other means to disconnect the system except in the meter box.Whereas our system which has the inverter in the garage has the breaker in the meter box plus a switch to turn the solar array off to the inverter and a switch to disconnect the inverter from the meter box.I would assume there would have to be minimum requirements by law.

AS3000, yes if the inverter is adjacent and visible to the SB and within a X metres, it does not requires an extra AC isolator. If it is not then it does, It's about that simple.
