Hi Guys, I live in Woodend in Vic. Does any one know what the rules are if you want to go off grid
I have a commercial property, 4 bed house renovated to office that I would like to take off grid
What are the rules before I "axe" the power line in ????

I think that you need a great deal more planning, before you can cut ties.
Unless you have lots of money to pay someone to just come in and do it..

As for the rules, there does not seem to be any that anyone has identified, and so the bottom line seems to be that you just ring up and say that you want a final reading and to be disconnected.. I suspect that the CSO will not understand, and will want to know where your taking your business ..
You could. Lie and say that you were starting a KDR, and power was not needed..

I would also be interested in knowing the best process, other than not paying the bill, and waiting to be disconnected ...

Not quite there is a bit more to it. Sorry "Tracker" this is Vic and there are rules
Done this more than once and there is an extra step beyond you can go, that's not free not too much though.
