I'd use at least 5W panel and would definitely use a charge controller that can have the float voltage set correctly, ideally the charge controller should also have temp compensation, relatively cheap to get the parts, panels can have a voltage upto approx 18V for this type of thing, use a fuse typically in the + line from the charge controller to the battery JIC. Don't need a fuse between the charge controller and the panel this type of little system is too basic to need one.

Place the charge controller close to the battery and have the panel further away if you require to have some distance in the install, ideally use DC solar wire size, it is 4mm2 meaning you will have very little loss.

Will keep it nicely floated 99.9% of the time which I assume is what you are looking for.

Yes

10A charge controller is way more than you need but it maybe the smallest, just ensure it can be
"programmed" for the float voltage and will support 6V batteries.

You don't need a 10w panel however it will certainly work.

The charge controllers linked to do not support a 6v battery only 12 and 24.

What are you trying to power?
