G'day from Loomberah

Say g'day and tell us a little bit about yourself if you wish. If you have a wind or solar power system, big or small; flaunt its specs here!

Thanks Peter. EM has changed a lot since the forum started, but job outsourcing to India isn't something I ever imagined happening... I'm not sure what the future holds for the forum, but I'm sure long time members with lots of knowledge can help still noobies out.

That wouldn't surprise me at all, with the big staff changes going on I suspect there isn't a lot of interest in the forum anymore, which is rather disappointing.

Well, in a way we've all been a part of the exciting initial growth of solar power. Perhaps what started out as small stand alone systems in rural areas and expanded into grid connected systems in cities , might now trend on to stand alone/off grid in cities. I'd get a certain amount of satisfaction out, of that even if the power industry would not :D

Jules
Primary system: .8KW Trina panels; Plasmatronics PL40; 1,000Ah VRLA 12X2V battery bank; 1.7KW Selectronic inverter. Off grid for 30 years.

Spares; 5 x 12V, 1,000 Ah batteries plus a couple of regulators

You could even suggest that our silly ramblings, may have made the installation of Solar - a less troubling event..
Simply because there were folk that were totally independent , and able to chat openly..!

Hmm..... I'm doing an SPS in the middle of town in a few weeks, the grid might and I stress might, be used as a generator if it's actually required which based on the use and time of year. 8-)
