Solax Hybrid SK-Su 3000 also wind?

Postby case » Thu May 03, 2018 11:52 am

I have the Solax X Hybrid Series SK-SU 3000 E.
One port is connected to the solar panels so I have one spare port.
I was wondering if I can use that port for a wind turbine to power the system at night or daytime when there is no sun?

Cheers, Case

Welcome to the Energy Matters Forums Case :)

I can't find that particular model listed, so can't check the user manual, but unless it says it is suitable for a wind generator, no you can't attach one to it. The output from a wind turbine is significantly different to that from PV panels, in particular the voltage variation over short time scales is much greater under normal operation, so you need a special inverter to handle it.

In any case, unless you live in a particularly cloudy and windy area, solar panels will produce more energy for the money spent than a wind turbine will. Loomberah weather and astronomy including live solar radiation intensity and UV + Gunagulla aquaponics, organic eggs and cherries

I found the particular model, the short answer is NO it is not suitable for a wind turbine.
It designed for Solar Panels and by the info in the manual to have batteries connected to it. ... -Guide.pdf
