Yes that's true it does but it will not work as I said it more than 12months (16 months) and therefore it cannot repeat it the following year and so on, it will fail every time.

Priorities are specifically designed to recycle and operate/repeat EVERY day, month, year, ie on 1.1.anything it can turn a relay that does XX things and only that day each will it do it each year. 16 months simply can't be repeated in fact it's a wrap around so it's an utterly illogical configuration. It might use dates but it's only so it may start priority in the future upto a year minus one day.

What is it you are trying to achieve exactly, that has a need for 16 months?

australsolarier wrote:B) under the configuration/system/ multiple charging tab if you enable "multiple chargers" (more than one selectronic sp pro) then, what what what what!!!!!!! you might think as you have only ONE selectronic inverter this has no consequence. but as it turned out, when multiple chargers are enabled the selectronic then does not grid feed. and under the solar hybrid control tab no graying or anything lets you know it is disabled.

What that setting does (not documented) is stop the SP-Pro from FORCING the voltage to drop to the lower voltage such as from absorption to float. If the LiFePO4 cells are not fully charged then they will continue to take charge until they're REALLY charged at which point the system drift rather than force it to the lower voltage and should start to export, it depends on what the Midnite is doing also. Your choice of which way it's set but that's the way, I've done a number of packs and they ALL export but ONLY when the cells are REALLY charged.

australsolarier wrote:i myself did not click that enabling of multiple chargers. it was done either inadvertently or deliberately

Deliberately, explanation above. It's not nice to make out it was done for anything other than good reasons. If you'd asked I could have told you, as you know I had to go. I'd wasted more than enough time attempting to explain why wiring should be done precisely according to Selectronics documentation so did not get to that setting or others.

Selectonic installation documentation state clearly and I quote.

"DC Shunts MUST be installed into the battery negative lead. Ensure that the shunt ONLY measures the renewable or other DC load current and not any current feeding to or from the inverter."
The inverter it is talking about is the SP-PRO.

The point being that you DO NOT CONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE OF THE SP-PRO to the shunt it is monitoring it throws out a bunch on internal variables including kWh's or A.H's and internal dynamic calulations. If you feel you must monitor via both the SP-Pro and the MIDNITE, then you need to add yet another shunt connected between the MIDNITE and the batteries that the SP-PRO is not connected to and it should monitor that shunt ONLY. That is the ONLY way of having both the SP-PRO and the MIDNITE monitoring the SOC on both devices accurately.

like i said, the selectronic is a top line inverter with heaps of programming possibilities. at the other hand the programming side is difficult and not intuitive. and can cause religious kind of disagreements were probably both parties are right.
suffice to say, the way i set it up works for me.
and yes davidg was a great help in explaining some of the features and how they work and what they are for. and yes he understands the selectronic 300 x more than i do. and yes there are reasons my system is set up as it is.
so i think we should let it rest there.

on a more practical note, my new set up to switch float and bulk from the midite to the selectronic did work to my expectation . in the evening when the midnite went into sleeping mode or low light mode, the selectronic switched to bulk. so i am very happy this is working. as a matter of fact it should be taken up by selectronic documentation about switching with dc solar chargers. by the way the selectronic website is down today and the last few days as well. just wondering what is going on.

Works fine for me :?:

The www.selectronic.com.au page isn’t working

www.selectronic.com.au didn’t send any data.

yes it might have something to do with my internet provider, just tried from "sweden" and it is connecting.

Victron is good gear but I have tried unsuccessfully to get support over the last two years.
I can not get generator start to work and no support from victron.
I have now purchased a different device to start the generator that works on lower and upper voltage range.

I have this Victron unit and it works well. It is an off grid unit and I can even weld with it but if you want tech support, you wont get it from Victron. You have to rely on your supplier.

just an update about my selectronic sp pro 482-au inverter. the inverter has been hanging on the wall those last two years. and since about 1,5 years fulling running the house without any input from the grid. (there is a grid feed system, that's the only direction the current is running.) the number of panels have been greatly increased. something like 18kwp.
selectronic work on the software and there are periodic updates. like they have a configuration for lithium batteries now. the updates are easy to do, the inverter turns off though and switches over to the grid whilst updating. the capacitor counter is still down to 0.8%, so another 100 years before it needs new caps? the software is still murky and complicated. when the dedicated laptop for the solar power updates, it is still a convoluted process the restart the selectronic inverter remote program.
i have had the inverter run at almost 10kw for a short while.
the power room has air conditioning. the main system has 3 midnite classic solar chargers now. this is somewhat overkill. but i am thinking of buying an electric car later on, when they are available here in australia. and can use that surplus electricity then.
the system is able to heat the house in winter and heat the hot water tank. and everything else. so i probably wouldn't need the grid anymore.
once the selectronic is programmed, it is truly program and forget. unlike the midnite classics that need some what checking, and occasionally need a reboot. the other day one of the classics decided not to follow in "follow me mode" anymore.
in short i am happy with my selectronic and recommend it.

more update:

the selectronic inverter generated 5000$ worth of electrcicity so far. the consumption will rise, as i have an electric car now. the selectronic happily works at 7.5kw for hours at a time, though some of the innards (like trafo) get very hot, so around 90 degrees, even though the fan does not go over 50% or thereabouts. the capacitors only used 1.8% of there life span according to the selectronics "components life", fan 0.2%

the small 12v victron system generated 2500$ worth of electricity.

i am still connected to the grid, but do not draw power, only gets fed in.
