What does the rating IP65/IP67 etc mean?

New to renewable energy? Have questions? Here's a great place to ask them and view information about wind and solar power basics.

What does the rating IP65/IP67 etc mean?

I have seen these IP ratings on company's websites sating there panels are "IP67" etc. What does this mean and how does this affect what I should and shouldn't purchase in way of panels and other equipment :?: .

Thanks for that Gordon, I actual found a page just now on this subject. If anyone was stumped by what these ratings meant by all means check both links they helped me work it out.
