Home energy monitor with PV

Postby sark1982 » Mon Mar 09, 2015 11:29 am

Hi all,

I've just had a 5kw system installed and am currently awaiting the installation of my bi-directional meter from Ergon.

My question is when the new meter is installed, does anyone know if there is a line I will be able to clamp with my energy monitor so that I can monitor my grid power usage with my home energy monitor? I currently have the main line clamped, but the meter is showing some combination of what I'm using and what the PV is generating.

I'm not too concerned with monitoring the exported power, only that which will cost me the $$.

TIA

Thanks Gordon. I have seen energy monitors that can calculate the grid usage based on the inputs from 2 sensors. My monitor however doesn't support that.

Does anyone have a picture of the bidirectional meter?
