Wind Generator.. LIGER..600W Wind Gen. Overclaims..???

.
Just a silly observation....

I was looking at an eBay ad. for a VAWT device that seems to be locally made in MELBOURNE ..
They refer to their own www site... http://www.ligertel.com.au
But the device is not featured there..
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221250147951
It seems to use two vertical technologies. ONE to start it spin and another to do the work.???

The interesting point is that the EBAY ad. clearly defines this architectural device as 600W, but then gives the ..

Hi Tracker. Yeah, it would look impressive, but 8m/s converts to 28.8km/h wind speed which is a very decent wind especially on the top of a roof.

They have a vertical turbine at CERES in Melbourne and I really haven't seen it spin very much over the years.

Coastlines and mountain tops are the best places for effective wind turbines, but I'm happy to be corrected.

They sure didn't produce much energy here and I junked the 600W horizontal turbine after less than 2 months in operation. No point flogging a dead horse.

Most areas around Melbourne it's a waste, there is just not enough wind to justify it's price, for the occasional energy boost when the weather is windy enough to make it worthwhile. It maybe be a good product, but only in the right places.
