I am a new ENergy Matters customer. I have heard you need to clean the solar panels from time to time. Is this correct. If so, can someone explain how and when theey need to be cleaned.
Thanks John

Hi Lerijm, you'll soon figure out when to clean your panels - rain will keep them clean enough. They'll generally be OK unless there is a thick layer of dust on them or bird droppings.
For dust, I just hose mine off, but for more stubborn dirt, I loosen the dirt with a broom whilst hosing. *** Be very careful if you are on the roof with the hose - a wet roof can be very slippery!!
I use rain water pumped from my tank - better for the environment and rainwater leaves less streaks when it dries.
