INSURANCE

Hi, we lost our pool blanket in a storm. It was not covered by our home/contents insurance. Does anyone know of any firm covering pool blankets?

Between you, me and the gate post, I think there is NO ONE..
It's one of those items that just does not fit into insurable items, otherwise we would be claiming for the roses and the missing moggy.
Naturally, if the roof blows off and into the pool then it's replacement becomes secondary damage.

Thanks,

It was what I thought too. Why should I spend maybe $2,000 and save water when during a fierce storm (which may be coming more prevalent) I can lose the lot?

I have every confidence in my pv panels and water tanks. What a shame to be let down by a pool blanket.

Throw in some lillies and grow ducks - That will be far better for the environment -- Yours !

PS - I hate to say it but a Swimming pool has to be one of the most environmentally damaging things we can have.

Golly - they are so nice, but -- all that water -- All that Chlorine (health hazard) (Ozone Depleting) -- All that electricity to keep it clean etc. -- All that bloody work that you have loaded onto yourself -- .. ... etc.. ..

No - let it go green, and grow carp and ducks -
"Deep fried duck in tangy Orange sauce" - now that's better than a swim any day?

Mulch the carp and feed your vegies!

PS - Can I come over for a swim - I hate the beach!

Tracker, you are absolutely correct.

However, I was under instructions 19 years ago to either purchase a house with a pool or get one in before summer - five months time. The pool was in before Christmas.

Our five teenage children and assorted friends enjoyed it and now our six (at present) grandchildren and assorted nieces and children also enjoy it. I also must admit to enjoying it.

Keeping the pool running well is not the drudgery that some would suggest as long as the equipment and in our case salt is kept up to speed. It is much like keeping a car running well. You can allways expect probelms if you fail to keep an eye on things.

I love it - You are so lucky - It is one thing that does keep them at home.. Despite the obvious problems !!

Then when they stop coming,
Then - can I look forward to Tangy Duck in Orange sauce?

PS - You didn't say if I can come over -- got me togs on already
