Yep that should work.
Only problem is beer will be cold in the morning, not too many of us need a cold beer then.
I spent $650 on a camping fridge and $650 on a 120W panel to run it, with a tiny old 7AH SLA battery
it only runs during the day
Beer is always cold when I want one -at the end of the day.
A similar setup could be done with panel, battery inverter for a normal fridge but i'm guessing by the time you buy all of that the camping fridge is starting to look good value.
I have played with insulating fridges with great results, start by flipping it over and insulating between the pump and fridge where it gets quite hot, second some foil on the back between cooling fins and back of fridge.
Add some 1" thick recycled foam (too expensive from Clark rubber) and if it's in the garage wont look too terrible.
8E + 8W + 8Nth Garage CMS2000-1 with ~4500W in 3 strings of 8.
Fronius Galvo 3.0 inverter with ~6.6kW panels
12x ZNShine + 12x 180W Solarfuns both NW + ZNShine 12x190 facing SE.
Edwards Solar Hot water
Luck Favours the well prepared.
