I'd recommend strawbale construction, assuming your council will allow it... and if they don't, they need some education! :) Loomberah weather and astronomy including live solar radiation intensity and UV + Gunagulla aquaponics, organic eggs and cherries

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone is still following this discussion as I'm coming in a long time after the last post.

We. Have a 30yo solid birch house with brick internal walls but no insulation in the external wall cavities.

I am considering removing the external leaf of brickwork and replacing with a timber frame.

I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts about this idea.

Hi Chris,
Sounds like a really expensive and complicated process.
What are the issues and what are you trying to achieve?
