NSW Solar Levy questions

Financial support for wind and solar power in Australia - rebates, grants and feed in tariffs - can be a nightmare in navigating all the rules and regulations. Ask your questions and view related information here.

CWS - thanks for that reference.

So from page 18, we see that in 2011 the FIT was responsible for $36 of a $1594 total.
Hello - thats 2.26% of a $1594 bill

They predict that by 2020 it will be $37 of a $2005 bill or 1.8%

and yet I do recall a past claim by IPART that 5% of a larger increase, was to fund the FIT.. Me thinks that we are being done over.. and each time IPART grant an increase, they again and again claim it's to fund a 2.26% FIT allowance.

and whilst we are all squirming and appologising to our neighbours for raising their bills, the energy companies report massive profits.. Please - I do like to be kissed first

PS - and I do recall an interview, where O'Farrell said that each bill would have an amount, being each users share of the Solar Levy.. So it might appear as an amount like
Solar Levy .......... $37
Service Charge...... $48

Tracker, my impression was that it would be on everyone's power bills as a Solar Levy and blame for rising energy costs to be put on Solar subsidies and Carbon pricing. As a distinct mention on our power bills it hasn't happened yet and may not but I don't trust the O'Farrell government to nurture the renewable energy industry. On the contrary it's actively trying to kill it off. It seems the NSW government is in thrall to the fossil fuel industry and has no problem highlighting the short term negative impacts of measures to reduce emissions on coal and fossil fuel energy generation and use whilst studiously leaving out the climate impacts and costs of letting the emissions juggernaut gather momentum.

I still can't find the kind of detailed information I've been looking for - and I admit it's not simple with the mix of ever changing schemes at Federal and State levels.

Does this suggest that there are fully quantifiable changes already. If so, you might confirm what you believe them to be.
The CLIMATE has been changing from even B4 the dinasours. La Nina's follow El Nino's
ElNiño/La Niña-Southern Oscillation, or ENSO, is a quasiperiodic climate pattern that occurs across the tropical Pacific Ocean roughly every five years.

One thing that we can be sure of... The Govt.. and the Electricity-Suppliers will make more money from the increased energy prices. As such, we can be certain that BOTH will wish to deflect blame to someone else... and guess who that is going to be..

Or food supply uncertainties.

and this will come, irrespective of climate change, as bastards like Coles and Woolies, continue to shaft local producers and IMPORT crap from CHINA. .. and I do mean CRAP, because that is one of the fertilisers that they are happy to use on your vegetables, and they are happy to used carcenogenic sprays to control pests and fungi etc. I say YOUR, because we refues to buy from Coles/Woolies.
At least ALDI guarantees that they will buy LOCAL first and foremost.
That naturally excludes their fantastic chocolate.. :P

Tracker you could look to McMichael et al "Climate change and human health: present and future risks" in Lancet which attributed 160,000 excess deaths to climate change in the single year of 2000AD. They don't even attempt to project excess deaths in the future from food shortages, forced migrations and conflicts arising - all factors that can and will result in enormous loss of life. And take away the known influence on year to year global temperatures from el Nino Southern Oscillation (along with volcanic aerosols and solar changes) and the warming trend becomes much clearer and harder to dispute. See this article "Global temperature evolution 1979–2010" - http://iopscience.iop.org/1748-9326/6/4 ... 044022.pdf - in Environmental Research Letters.

I don't want to have to argue climate science here but will say that when successive independent expert committees of the US National Academy of Sciences - perhaps the world's most prestigious science advisory body - conclude the problem is real and serious, and every institution that studies climate is in agreement - then I suggest scientific grounds for doubt are weak to non-existent. I think it's dangerously irresponsible to dismiss and ignore our scientists on this very serious issue.

I dare say Global Warming has been occurring since the time of the last Ice Age, and that's why we are now living on planet Earth.

Barry is a cunning polly..put a $10 per bill solar levy to 100% of customers..he says its labour who set a too genrous Gross FIT..now we all hove to pay for it..I can see within 6 months the 60cents Gross FIT will be removed in NSW.
