Smart Meter Interval Readings

Postby dRdoS7 » Wed Jun 10, 2015 9:52 am

Hi,

I saw this on my Origin Energy (Victoria/Powercor) account:

From 15 May 2015 your local distributor is no longer required to provide us with interval meter reads from your meter. We use this data to provide you with the graph in Energy Manager about your usage and also your predicted bill.

Anybody know why this has changed?

I enjoy seeing how much they're going to owe me at the next bill. :D

I thought the idea of a Smart Meter was for consumers to be able to monitor their energy usage. Well that, and being able to charge more, and cut us off remotely, and save cost by not having to employ meter readers.

Also with Origin.. Powercor and would say the graphs are more up to date and reliable in the last month.

Maybe some distributors are not supplying interval data ?

Do you have the same message on your account?

I noticed yesterday that my history only goes back to Jan 2014 now.

I thought they had to supply readings: spruiked all over that we would be able to see our usage when the SMs were being installed.

Got the message last week, history is still there ... Just click back through the months in history but did not go back past 2014
