I think its a cool name for the MPPTs.

The large SMAs are definately worth the money.

I was under the impression that the only multi or dual MPPT SMA inverters were the 4000TL & The 5000TL (which i understand is out of stock as well at the moment)

So back to the question - what does Optitrac on the 6,7,8,9,10000TL inverters mean?

Let me rephrase in a more accurate fashion.

Its just a cool name for the MPPT algorithm where there is an MPPT installed.

Essentially, it is a label to add to an inverter to aid marketing, and it means they just did their job, but feel the need to tell you about it!

Hi I know its a bit off track for this post, but I have a 7.1 kw system made up of Silex 270w panels and a SMA 10000tl inverter. Sytem was installed in December, seems to work fine with over 40kwh produced each day, but inverter makes a series of noises, (presume it is relays latching in), as it wakes up each morning and shuts off each night. I did not realise they made this noise, or would not have had the installers mount it on the outside wall close to the meter box, as it is also our bedroom wall (makes a good 6.15am alarm clock). Anyone else have noisy inverters.

Interesting, my SMA 10kW is the same. The first time I thought it was going to blow up!
