:IMPORTANT: When seeking answers to technical issues, ensure that you provide as much information as possible; for example, instead of just stating you have an "SMA Inverter", include the model e.g. "SMA SB 1700". This will help you get quicker and more accurate feedback.
1. Posts must be made in the relevant category, with a relevant title. Please check for existing threads on the topic of interest before starting a new topic.
SPECIAL NOTE: The "Introduce yourself" category is just to say g'day and to showcase specs of your system if you have one. If you don't have a system, that's ok - you can still say hi to the community in that section
. Your introduction shouldn't contain questions - post those instead in the relevant forum category.2. Please keep "on topic" when contributing to a thread. This keeps the discussion focused. Post a new topic to discuss other issues.
3. Do not cross post/multi-post, i.e. the same post in multiple areas of the forum.
4. When quoting from another member's post, don't quote the whole post, just the relevant comments.
5. Keep things friendly. Debate is welcome and encouraged but "ad hominem" arguments are not permitted:

Address the issue, don't attack the person. Insulting or snarky remarks about community members or moderators will not be tolerated. Don't let a single line in an otherwise useful post be the cause of your entire post being deleted by community moderators. Before hitting the submit button, please consider the tone of your message and how it may be interpreted by others.

10. Energy Matters reserves the right to edit, remove or put on moderation queue any post at any time.
11. Respect the decisions and guidance of community moderators. If you have concerns about particular community issues or decisions, PM one of the moderators rather than post publicly about it - there may be good reason behind a decision and creating unnecessary tension in the community through making incorrect assumptions or in a way that could cause instability serves no useful purpose.

Firstly, click on the quote icon at upper right. Then just make sure everything you want to appear highlighted as a quote is surrounded by {quote} and {/quote} but use the square brackets [...] type your posting below and/or in between those bits (outside the square bracket bits) and you cant go wrong.
