Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.. Export Gas, Use Coal

There's more to renewable energy than just wind and solar power - hydro, wave, geothermal to name a few. Discuss these RE alternatives here!

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.. Export Gas, Use Coal

Postby Tracker » Thu Jul 03, 2014 8:42 am

.
The ABC news article told of the Qld. generator, recommissioning a coal fired generator, to replace a gas plant, because THEY can make more from exporting the gas...

As predicted, THEY will rape the countryside to strip our gas, for export, and our stupid Governments do nothing to secure the national need first..

And if we had more support for solar home installations we could generally reduce the need for either power station.

Sadly it doesn't really matter who runs the country, it will still suffer from big corporations needs for bottom line profits, and therefore the politicians having to suck up to their funding sources.

Yes, Australia is becoming the laughing stock of the world for anybody that considers the environment as important. We have politicians at all levels who are so deeply allied or indebted to industrial and big business lobbyists that 'corruption' only starts to describe their situation.

Add to this a complete lack of interest in the long term interests of the country and its population (major exceptions being family/friends/contributors) and we have the perfect storm of national decay.

Not to mention government and so called independent regulators that are basically guarantors for the continuation of fossil fuel profiteering.

But....we are free and relatively affluent enough to try and make a difference and tar these idiots with enough ridicule to force a change. People power is something even Emperor Abbott should respect.

Perhaps this is the area which we should all be concentrating on, as that frees up the politicians from their allegiances, and allows them to appear to be doing something for their constituents ?

The Pollies can attack these 'independent regulators', and still get their election contributions from big business, as they aren't attacking big business directly. ;)
