Some good info there David
There must be a lot of people paying for so called services they don't need use or don't want, and there is gst on them as well, rip off some more.
I have being off grid now for about a year but still paying a service to property fee, just to make sure a had a reliable system.
Had energex pull the fuse on the power line across the road some time ago after telling AGL we wanted it disconnected,
Have not used any grid power for a long time, now AGL send us large bill with an estimated meter reading even though there s no way we can use any power.

OH THEY ARE GOOD AREN'T THEY!

I wouldn't p!ss on AGL if they were on fire !

They did the dirty on us years ago. My sister passed away, and when I went and closed the account, they charged us a early disconnection fee from the contract, and refused to accept my sisters death as a good enough reason to waive the early termination fee. :(

Don't mess around simply go straight to the energy ombudsman in your state, if you mess around there's an off chance you'll windup with a hit on you credit score, they will not resolve it readily without you using a big club (ombudsman). I don't mess around with retailers anymore, for instance the retailer sent us the last bill it was 11 times what it should be, I gave them 7 days to get it fully sorted out, at 12 days they still had not got it even close to resolved, I lodged a formal complaint with the ombudsman because they still had not pulled there finger out and got moving on it, apart from some rubbish about the account being on hold, the last time I had an error like this it took Origin a full 2 years to get it kind of sorted out and a year of that it was with the ombudsman. then I had a whole bunch more of them as it still kept coming out of the woodwork periodically.

I don't wait anymore, I given a time period and then use the big stick, it's worked every single time, they have been in the worng more than 10 times now. Ombudsman complaints cost them a fee/money every time one is lodged, you'd think they would have learn't by now, but no, there fools. I really hate the idiots however for us the current deal is one of the better offers on the market right now overall. So ATM until, we eventually move permanently to rural Vic, which is still a while away they will continue to get curry from me for doing and making stupid idiotic errors, they are paying for the privilege of being really idiotic.

I chase even if the mistake is only cents now, if there is an error, then I make them correct it period and quickly, or it's HI, HO, HI, HO, it's off to the ombudsman we go ................. :)

Sound Advice there David

Will have another go at AGL and if they cant get it resolved, Ombudsman it will be.

Had trouble with Origin last time, the Ombudsman was so bogged down with other complaints and by the time the Ombudsman sorted the problem out Origin had already sent the debt collector, and after Origin admitted they got it wrong they failed to call off there Dogs.

Don't want to go through that again.
Curry Indeed.

Origin is not allowed to do that should have stuck them for compensation as well as ensuring they cleared your credit score etc..... They would have you would be surprised what you can get you just ask a whole lot and push very hard indeed when they won't budge anymore then settle "grudgingly" . Ask me how I know go on ask me :D
