Replacing Halogen Downlights with 240V LED

Postby GaryG » Tue Jan 13, 2015 12:40 pm

Hi

I am in Victoria so plenty of VEET offers including free replacements but my current downlights are 12V ones and I would like to find a good deal for going to 240V.

I believe that should still attract VEET subsidies so hopefully the costs are reasonable.

I have 10 downlights, none are dimmable.

I have a few mates who are interested in doing the same especially if I can find a reasonable deal. (Some of them have dimmable ones)

Also not sure if there is something similar for getting rid of all the incandescent bulbs as well?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers
Gary

My understanding of the VEET program is that you can't pick any old LED.

The LEDs in the program are individually tested and approved. So the choice is going to be fairly limited compared to what is available in the overall market.

Thanks LEDMAD.

I realise that might be the case but I am hoping some one might offer a 12V to 240V upgrade as there are companies doing 12V globe replacements and others doing 240V ones.
