fast recharge network for SE Qld/Byron Bay

Hi,
Some exciting news for EV owners or future EV owners (meaning me :) ), a fast charge network covering from Byron Bay up to Noosa and across to Toowoomba is planned, as detailed in this story here:

I hope that it will improve the Qld uptake of electric cars, knowing that one can go further afield and have somewhere to do a quick recharge.

Yes it would be great if it can get support. The 50kw fast chargers are a Brisbane based product so that's another + . To cover the wider area of SEQ $450,000 is actually very reasonable for that kind of infrastructure project.

The trouble will be the chicken before the egg . you have to put it into perspective just how few EV are on the road. Its a tiny number my guess is it would be under 100 dc fast charge capable ev's in QLD.

That's said perhaps its a build it and they will come situation.

Friends just purchased a farm in Byron bay hinterland It would e nice to be able to visit them 300km away from the Sunshine cost with two 20min fast charges on the way ;)

Just need more people to go out and replace there runabout with a EV. :D
