Sealed Energy Battery

There's more to renewable energy than just wind and solar power - hydro, wave, geothermal to name a few. Discuss these RE alternatives here!

Sealed Energy Battery

Postby gyro » Wed Nov 04, 2009 4:29 pm

Hi Folks
It's GYRO again posing the question can Electricity of any value be made by the use of tritium gas using phosphor as glowing agent onto solar cell. I have often wondered if Tritium was crystalized with phosphor and impregnated onto solar panels in wafer thin segments say the size of a car bonnet the combined output could possibly supply current to charge Lithium ion batteries thus eliminating the need to charge the system. I even thought about building the whole thing into the battery pack.
As tritium gas glows for 10 or more years the system could be self generating 24 hours a day.
The same goes for standard solar cells it the crystals were pasted to the back of the cells then at night the cells will continue to produce electricity albeit at a reduced rate.
Anyone out there who can put positive input into my idea would be appreciated. (no critics PLEASE)

Let me know where I can get some of that T gas, last time I tried to order a couple of vials on ebay I discovered it was over $100000/gram and is a restricted substance. For good reason too, it's radioactive, and not the sort of thing you want to be handling, or breathing in... nor the Helium3 gas that T decays into.
You would definitely have a hot @rse if you sat on that bonnet!

Is that a troll I spy under the bridge?
Damn, it got me!

You could probably get the same 24 hour generation effect much cheaper if you use your PV system to power some big halogen spotlights that you aim directly back at the panels. That's what I do. I ran out of tritium.

Why don't you try it yourself Gyro and report the results , but I rather liked you last reply in a previous thread.

I am removing myself from this forum as it is a waste of my valuable time.

I did have a great idea to generate endless "Green electricity" using a hamster wheel, but the big oil companies scared away all my leprechauns.

Tritium, halogen spotlights, leprechauns and hamster wheels.

hmmm; perhaps we should start stocking these items on EM.

I started running searches on Tritium suppliers and it might be a coincidence, but it seems the Australian Federal Police now want to have a word with me.

For the folks visiting our forums for the first time and wondering if this community is a just a pack of meanies, nothing could be further from the truth.

We really are a friendly bunch - it's just that there's a little history with our friend Gyro that can be viewed here:

Gyro, I have to hand it to you - you are persistent, consistent and full marks for your tenacity under the circumstances.

I think I'll lock this topic now though :).
