I found this 3000W-SMART-GENERATOR-48v-DC- on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3000W-SMART- ... 2046876119
I know this is as cheap as it gets and the quality and reilability probably reflexs the price.
However I like the concept, it could be greatly improved by replacing the petrol engine with a slow revving diesel and a v belt or two driving the generator.
There has been some chatter about making a 48vdc generator and maybe this could be made to work on a diesel engine.
To fit a diesel engine for example I have a old single cylinder Lister in good order and it is about 6hp @1800RPM from memory.
Any ideas or advise on this.
